1. Scope
This Privacy Policy is issued and maintained by EF Tools, the operator of SnapScene and the website www.ef-tools.store. In this policy, “SnapScene,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the SnapScene product and its operator.
This Privacy Policy applies to the SnapScene macOS app, SnapScene website pages, and SnapScene-related support requests.
SnapScene is a local-first desktop scene manager. The core features do not require you to upload window scenes, layout data, or desktop fingerprints to SnapScene servers.
2. Information SnapScene may process
Window and scene information: owning apps, window titles, positions, sizes, and window identifiers used to match and restore windows, plus scene names, layout trees, split ratios, and recent restore status. This metadata is used to match and restore windows.
Preferences: language, appearance, launch behavior, shortcuts, panel position, scene order, and permission status.
Purchase status: if you buy or restore SnapScene Pro through the App Store, the app reads transaction and entitlement status from Apple to unlock features.
Diagnostic logs: to help diagnose issues, SnapScene may write local runtime and crash logs inside the app container. These logs stay on your Mac and are not automatically collected or uploaded.
Support information: if you contact us, we process the issue description, screenshots, attachments, device model, system version, and diagnostics you choose to provide.
3. Local storage and processing
SnapScene generally stores scenes, layouts, window matching information, preferences, and diagnostic logs on your Mac, such as preference files or local data files inside the app container.
You should protect your Mac account, FileVault, backups, and any files you intentionally export. SnapScene is not a password manager, encrypted vault, or enterprise compliance system.
4. Permission and network usage
To arrange windows, SnapScene works with the SnapScene Window Helper shortcut that you install through the Shortcuts app. The first time you use SnapScene, macOS asks you to allow SnapScene to control Shortcuts Events. The helper reads window titles, positions, and sizes and moves or resizes windows when you restore a scene. SnapScene also reads public window metadata such as window numbers, process IDs, and bounds to match and restore windows. SnapScene does not capture window pixels or audio, and does not read document URLs or accessibility roles.
SnapScene contains no advertising, analytics, or telemetry network requests. Purchases and restores are handled by Apple StoreKit; website, App Store, and support links are opened by the system browser or corresponding system app.
5. Sharing and third parties
We do not sell personal information or share window scene data with advertising networks.
App Store purchases, refunds, taxes, and payment information are handled by Apple. If you send a support request, your email or support provider may process the information you choose to submit. Website hosting may create ordinary server logs for security, error diagnosis, and abuse prevention.
The App Store, StoreKit purchases, and Shortcuts automation that SnapScene uses are provided by Apple and are subject to Apple's own privacy practices. We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
If required for legal, regulatory, or safety reasons, we may process or disclose relevant information to the extent necessary.
6. Retention, deletion, and control
Local scene, layout, and preference data stays on your Mac for as long as you keep it. You can delete scenes, change preferences, or uninstall SnapScene at any time. Uninstalling the app may not delete files you exported intentionally or copies contained in system backups.
Support information is kept only as long as needed to resolve your request, unless a longer period is required by law. You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the support information you sent us through the support entry below.
You can remove the SnapScene Window Helper shortcut or revoke automation permission in macOS System Settings, but related window arrangement and scene restore features may degrade or stop working.
